The information was confirmed by the president of the National Ports Authority (ANP), Juan Curbelo, the vice-president, Daniel Loureiro, together with the works manager, Gonzalo Baranda, and the port captain, Andr\u00e9s Passarino. The investment will be around US$ 10 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to what was informed by the authorities, the works will be carried out between 2023 and 2024, include the construction of new offices for ANP employees, repair of the Uni\u00e3o wharf and restoration of docks. Reinforcements will also be carried out in the structure of the pier, construction of the Dolphin anchorage and the installation of a new scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The docks have been in poor condition for many years and, according to Curbelo, a building will be built with offices for port employees, customers and users, which will be located at the entrance to the terminal. There will be a notable improvement in operation and in terms of scaling up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Curbelo, the numbers and movements of the first three months of the year in the port of Nueva Palmira are very similar to those of 2022, so the works are designed for the future, with the objective of having a terminal with the best conditions and services. This is Uruguay&#8217;s main bulk port terminal, so renovations and new constructions are very important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By: Santelmo
