M&T Expo reinforces the machinery market importance for mining and forestry areas

The 12th edition of M&T Expo – part of bauma NETWORK, the main fair of machines and equipment for construction and mining of Latin America, has been supporting and participating in important events in segments that use yellow line machines (earth moving) and lifting loads and people, to contribute to the technological and sustainable development of these areas.

In August, the 12th edition of M&T Expo will be at Expoforest, which will take place this week, from the 9th to the 11th, in Rodovia Antônio Machado Sant’Anna – SP 255 – Km 39, in the city of Guatapará, located 45 km from Ribeirão Preto /SP, in an area of 200 hectares of 7-year-old clonal eucalyptus forest, belonging to Sylvamo. Expoforest 2023 is expected to bring together around 300 exhibiting companies and receive around 40,000 visitors.

Also in this month, between 29th and 31st, M&T Expo will participate in Exposibram, the largest mining event of Brazil and one of the most relevant of Latin America, which will take place in Belém (PA), at Hangar – Amazon Convention and Fair Center. The event aims to bring the mineral industry closer to society, placing sustainability at the center of debates, and bring together the main mining players to discuss business prospects for the global mining industry.

During both events, visitors will be able to learn more about what Messe Muenchen do Brasil, organizer of M&T Expo 2024, is preparing for the fair’s next edition. “The market of construction equipment invests heavily in technology and innovation to increase productivity and operational efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of mining activities, forest management and works. Our event will highlight this sector’s development, as well as bring the debate of key issues for continuous evolution of the entire production chain and end users”, says Rolf Pickert, general manager of Messe Muenchen do Brasil.

Afonso Mamede, president of the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining (Sobratema), institutional partner for holding M&T Expo, analyzes that, in the last six years, the machinery market for construction has achieved growth in sales. “Last year, almost 40,000 pieces of yellow line equipment (earth moving) were sold, and part of these sales are linked to the mining and forestry markets, which demand this machine type in their operations. This way, there is a lot of synergy to support and attend the event in these two important meetings”.

M&T Expo connects the entire equipment market for construction and mining, from the main machine manufacturers for the yellow line, for lifting and moving loads, for concrete and paving, to parts and components industries and service providers, including construction companies, mining companies, industries, transporters up to investors, authorities, and representatives of municipal and state institutions responsible for the works.

The event will feature the Demonstration Arena to present the exhibitors’ equipment live, simulating use conditions so that buyers can learn about the full potential and functionality of the machines. In the content area, the highlight is for the event “ESG in Construction and Mining – The best practices for sustainability combined with competitiveness”, in partnership with Mineral Connection and Construction Connection. M&T Expo Capacita will connect the market by encouraging professional training to meet the different sector demands.

M&T Expo presents the +Sustainable Award by M&T Expo, to recognize and encourage responsible practices in the trade fair sector and highlight exhibitors that adopt innovative solutions. The award also aims to encourage the entire event industry to adopt practices such as use sustainable materials, reduce the use of natural resources, circular economy, proper waste management, inclusion, and diversity, in addition to promote environmental awareness among the participants.  

To promote the machinery market for construction throughout the country and promote the fair to a diverse audience, M&T Expo presents Project 365, which has already been to the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Bahia, and Paraná, and has as purpose to stimulate interaction between buyers and companies. In the next months, the project should also pass through the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco and Ceará. At the international level, the highlight will be to the Road Shows, which will start in November, visiting countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Paraguay.
