Rental market invoices R$ 24 billion in 2022 and has new business opportunities

The Brazilian equipment leasing market has more than 30,100 companies, which play an important social role by generating around 210,000 direct jobs. Last year, the sector earned approximately R$ 24 billion, with the opening of new business and construction opportunities, based on less restrictive measures of the pandemic and increased exports of commodities.

According to data from the Associação Brasileira dos Sindicatos e Associações Representantes dos Locadores de Equipamentos, Máquinas e Ferramentas [Brazilian Association of Trade Unions and Representative Associations of Equipment, Machinery and Tools Lessors], on average, the sector’s shipments and revenues represent around 30% of the total yellow line market (earth moving equipment). According to the Sobratema Study of the Brazilian Construction Equipment Market, by the Associação Brasileira de Equipamentos para Construção e Mineração (Sobratema) [Brazilian Association of Construction and Mining Equipment], rental represented 26% of machine sales in 2022.

In addition to the sector’s growth, rental has undergone significant changes, which can generate new opportunities for rental companies. Thus, to bring more information about new business chances in the market, as well as the current sector scenario, M&T Expo, the largest trade fair of machinery and equipment for construction and mining in Latin America, will promote on April 25, as of 6 pm, at the Associação Paulista dos Empreiteiros e Locadores de Máquinas de Terraplenagem, Ar Comprimido, Hidráulico e Equipamentos de Construção Civil [São Paulo Association of Contractors and Landlords of Earthmoving, Compressed Air, Hydraulics and Civil Construction Equipment] (Apelmat), the meeting “Rental:Present and future opportunities”.

The event will feature Eurimilson Daniel, vice-president of Sobratema, director of Analoc and president of ESCAD Rental Hilário José Sena, president of Apelmat;Paulo da Cruz Alcaide, vice-president of Apelmat; and Rolf Pickert, CEO of Messe Muenchen do Brasil. They will evaluate this market’s growth potential, show how the benefits and competitive advantages of renting machines have attracted new customers, and how to use the opportunities that are emerging in the market. Holding meetings between exhibitors and visitors in Brazil and South America is part of 365’s project, which encourages interaction between buyers and companies and provides a chance to expand relationships with different audiences to open new businesses. Another action within this project is support and presence at partner events.

M&T Expo is organized by Messe Muenchen do Brasil and has institutional support of the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining (Sobratema). The fair next edition will take place from April 23 to 26, 2024, at São Paulo Expo. In 2022, it had more than 600 exhibiting brands in 54 thousand square meters. In the content part, there were 192 hours of programming, and participation of 52 lecturers and experts.
